Our Story
Hi, it’s Sara here, founder of Australian Adventures. In 2010, I had the amazing chance to go live with a host family in Italy. This experience made a lasting change in me! Not only did the adventure of seeing the history and art I had studied about enthuse my soul with life, but being away from home also helped me “see the water I was swimming in” and understand myself and my own culture much better.
How it all started
When I got home from Italy, so many of my friends wanted to a have a similar experience. In 2015, I started a company called Rome Abroad. For many years I helped others live abroad with host families and have life-changing experiences. Eventually the business expanded to not just Italy, but France, Australia, Spain, and other places too. In 2022, I sold the business to a lovely couple who still run things today.
Australia has always interested me (thanks Rescuers Down Under!), and I think it’s a great place for young people to spread their wings.
In 2025, I decided to help people again enjoy the experience of deep-diving into another culture. Australia is a very unique and beautiful place with a warm, friendly culture. Being able to live and work there is the opportunity of a lifetime.
